Knowledge of God and His will is vital to what we face at this time. We read about a king named Nebuchadnezzar who thought himself to be on top of the world. He attributed his greatness and kingdom to his own power and wisdom. When God was finished with him at the end of Daniel 4, he admitted there was no God like Daniel’s God. How many Pharaohs or Caesars have crossed the face of planet earth and found out who was really in charge? In recent days the weather has played havoc with many cities across our nation. People stranded, businesses and schools closed are all but side affects of the bad weather. In a quiet way whether in nature or movements within nature, God is in control, not man.
It is of great encouragement to those who wear the name of Christian in sincerity, to know of the promise of God that He will never leave nor forsake His people (Hebrews 13:5). Evil at time enjoys a rise in the hearts of humanity. One has to read only a few chapters in the book of Judges to see how mankind, even those who belong to God, move back and forth. Chapter four opens by saying, the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord (Judges 4:1). Since we know that actions come from thinking, it is safe to evaluate that in chapter four Israel doing evil was because Israel was thinking evil. The faithful child of God is always surrounded by those who resent goodness and godly living.
