UPHEAVALS IN NATURE

There is of course time when nature around us becomes violent. Earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, and other sorts of storms which bring great problems to humanity as a whole. What we have to consider is that God set laws in motion for the preservation of all humanity. Storms of one kind or another cause concern about the dangers they bring. The laws of storms and such like are the same laws which God has places into motion to preserve life. For example, Elijah after the battle with the prophets of Baal was on top of Mount Carmel. He tells his servant to go and look out over the Mediterranean ocean. He comes back several times before he finally sees a little cloud about size of a man’s hand (I Kings 18:43,44). The cloud brought rain of which James wrote about concerning the power of prayer (James 5:17,18).

Clouds form over the oceans and wind brings them over the land. A gentle rain or a raging storm both come about the divine orders set in place by God. The same law which brings a rain for crops to grow also brings a raging storm. Stop and ask why does not Jupiter crash into Mars? It is because of divine laws place by God. Some try to place man in the center of the universe as though man is God and he can solve all his problems. At one time they called it “global warming” and when the facts did not back up their false conclusions they changed it to “climate change”.

Noah comes out of the ark and is given this knowledge by God. As long as the world stands there will be seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter and day and night (Gen. 8:22). Let me ask you that in all the years since that knowledge was stated by God and written down by Moses, when have any of those things ceased? Yes, there are droughts and famines, but when has cold and heat or day and night ever ceased? I accept the upheavals in nature because I accept the Word of God and the laws which He placed in motion to preserve humanity until time shall be no more.
