We live in a time when the idea of being accountable for actions seems to be a lost commodity. Why do we think for instance is marriage an honorable thing? God created the first pair to be male and female (Gen. 1:27). When the woman was brought to the man in Genesis two we have the God of heaven giving marriage to mankind. The first recorded break from that covenant given by God was Lamech in Genesis 4:19. Lamech took two wives. Over all the years people of God and away from God have tampered with God’s original view of what marriage is supposed to be. Jesus confronting His enemies told them the way it was supposed to be from the beginning (Matt. 19:8). The truth then nor now suits man when man desires something which God does not want him to have.
People today live together without being married. Such conduct does not bring honor to God. It is avoiding of responsibility to God and to each other. Still others treat sex as if it a total means to happiness. They can therefore engage in sex with any one for any length of time because no one can hold them accountable. The government of our nation was built upon the principles of the Christian religion. One such leader declared the government must rest on the two foundation principles of religion and morality. When nine individuals sitting on the highest court of the land can make it LAWFUL for two men or two women to be married to each other, the government has moved into the place of God.
The “LGBT…Q” group does not speak for most Americans. The place where marriage is held to be so honorable is when governments and individuals recognize the origin of marriage as being from God. Those who refuse to accept that origin will always be not accountable to anyone who tells them different. God gave marriage for the benefit of all mankind. May we ever respect Him and what He has given us by the way we live our lives.
