Connecting the Dots

One of the great proofs that there is a God is the law of “cause and effect”. If there is noise somewhere in your house, you know that something caused it. If there is a change in the way your husband or wife treats you, there is a cause somewhere. The existence of our planet and all the things around us begs us to investigate the origin of such. Why investigate? The simple reason is that if an object is here (earth and universe) something had to cause it. Time is often used as the cause by those who refuse to know God. Given enough time, evolution could have occurred, once. Let us take a moment then and view time.

Time cannot create wine. It requires certain ingredients coming together and being made in a certain way to produce wine. Time as a measuring device can be involved in bringing about wine but time itself cannot create wine. Where did the grape come from? Man plants and works the soil and in time grapes grow. Did time create the grape? From the seed, growth and finally the arrival of the grape on the vine all comes about as a result of time. Time is still a measuring device but time itself does not create the grape. If time then cannot create an object without other objects being involved why use time as a “reason for the existence of our universe and world”

Does time create life? From conception to birth under normal conditions, the time period for humans is nine months. What starts the nine months? Conception is the beginning of life when ingredients from man and woman come together. Time did not invent or create the ingredients of seed but it serves as a measuring device (nine months). Our world is here by the creative power of Almighty God. He used six days composed of 24 hours to create the world and all things therein (Gen. 1: 1-27). Time is a measuring device but it is God who gave us time and it was by His power that the world and all things came into existence (Col. 1:16; I Cor. 1:24).
